Creamy Apple tart

This is another simple but delicious recipe. Easy to make -foolproof I would say-  creamy and delicious.
With Autumn only a month away, and Apples coming into season, now is the perfect time to try your hand baking with them. You can have them in Apple Pies, Tarts, crumbles, even in Jams and of course on their own.

This recipe can be made with any type of Apple, although I prefer Golden Delicious, but my friend makes it with Royal Gala every time…. it simply a matter of taste, and/or what you have on hand.

Give this one a try. You won’t be disappointed , and your friends and family will thank you for it.

Ingredients

100g digestive biscuits- or whichever biscuit you use to make a crumb base
50g Unsalted Butter
1 glass milk (250ml glass) use this glass to measure out the remaining ingredients
1 glass flour whichever you have on hand but I use self raising flour
1/2 glass granulated sugar
6 medium sized Apples
Pinch of salt
2 or 3 tablespoons of apricot jam, previously softened in the microwave.

Instructions

1
Pre heat oven to 180 C
2
Bash the biscuits into crumbs and melt the butter. Then combine them, and use this to line the bottom of your previously greased lose bottom cake tin. Chill in the refrigerator whilst you prepare the remaining ingredients.
3
Peel and core the Apples and cut four of them into chunks, reserve the other two.
4
Add the chunks of apples, the milk, flour, salt and sugar to the jug of an electric blender and pulse until you form a smooth paste.
5
Slice the remains two apples into thin slices.
6
Remove the crumb base from the fridge, and pour the Apple batter into the mould. Layer the sliced apples over the top of the batter, and bake in the middle shelf of your oven for around 50-60 mins. After around 30 mins, If you feel the Apple is browning too much, cover the top of the tart with foil.
7
Once the time is up, check to see that the tart is set, if not give it 5 mins interval in the oven until it is set. Then remove and whilst still hot and in the pan, paint the top of your Apple cake with the softened apricot jam to add gloss and sheen.
8
Allow to cool in the pan, and then carefully remove to your serving dish and cool for a minimum of 6 hours or overnight in the fridge.
9
Serve on its own or with warm custard or cool ice cream. Mmm Yums. Enjoy. Simple and delicious creamy Apple tart cosykitchencorner style.
